WHAT IS THIS?

I have a lot of t-shirts. I mean A LOT. And I usually wear a t-shirt every day.

At the end of 2005 I had the idea for this blog - starting January 1st, 2006 I would wear a different t-shirt from my collection every day until I ran out of shirts. Shirts could not be repeated. Each day I was to take a photo of that particular day's shirt, tell everyone a little bit about it, and then post it all on this blog. I also encouraged my readers to send me shirts to keep my streak going, but that didn't work out so well. I think I got two or three in the mail. The rest of the shirts were mine.

The SASHDISH experiment lasted from January 1st, 2006 to June 5th, 2006, or something like 152 shirts! Was this pointless? Probably. But so is most of the stuff on the internet.

After SASHDISH ended, I got lazy and stopped checking in on it. Then the company that owned the server that stored all of my images went out of business, and all of the photos were lost. Someday, when I'm bored, I'll go back and repost the images. Until then, I still have all of the individual shirt descriptions up, so you can read about each one. And here's a photo of the first 100 shirts: SASHDISH 100.

In case you're wondering, I got rid of most of these shirts. However, I'm still a t-shirt-a-holic and now own just as many (if not more) than I used to.

THE END

Well friends, after scouring my closets and drawers for another t-shirt, I have come back empty handed. I am officially out of shirts.

Thanks to those who donated shirts to the cause, and thanks to all the people who visited me on my journey.

The final tally is 152 shirts, lasting from January 1st, 2006 to June 2nd, 2006. I'm pretty proud that I managed to make it to June -- at the beginning I didn't think I'd make it halfway through April.

Once again, check back over the course of this week. I'll be posting information on what shirts are available and how you can purchase them if you are so inclined.

Thanks again for visiting!
Aaron

Hazelwood West SWT - The Crucible

Front: Hazelwood West SWT Presents
Arthur Miller's The Crucible
November 11th, 12th, 13th 1993
Back: names of the cast

One of these friends, E-Liz gave me this shirt. She was in this production of The Crucible. Though I wasn't involved in theatre in high school, I hung out with the theatre kids. And the band kids. Us nerds have to stick together.

Scissorfight

Front: Scissorfight - The Wild Northeast
Back: Most Dangerous Animal

Scissorfight is a band from New Hampshire that plays really loud rock and roll music. Their lead singer has a beard that can only be described as "epic". He also goes by the name of Ironlung (he's second from the left). I met him a few weeks ago and he's a really nice guy.

Marines

Front: Marines
Back: nothing

My pal Ron went to the US Naval Academy, then he became a Marine. My nephew also wants to become a Marine. Fortunately, I have never had the desire to become a Marine. I'm a lover not a fighter.

Humuhumunukunukukuapua'a

Front: HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A
Back: nothing

A coworker of mine bought this shirt for me while on vacation in Hawaii. The Humuhumunukunukukuapua'a is the state fish of Hawaii, and "humuhumunukunukukuapua'a" is the longest word in the Hawaiian language.

Let's Go Bowling

Front: Let's Go Bowling - Rude 69
Back: nothing

Remember ska music? I do. I still love it. Let's Go Bowling is a ska band from California. Some friends and I saw them back in '97, and at the show my pal Matt bought this shirt. Years later he gave it to me.

Clutch - Okinawa & Hawaii

Front: Clutch - Okinawa & Hawaii March 2006
Back: sponsors of the show

My buddy Matt is serving in the Air Force over in beautiful Hawaii. He loves Clutch too, and he was lucky enough to see them on a USO tour that went straight through his military base. He was kind enough to get me a commemorative t-shirt.
